Daniel Isom

Associate Professor of Molecular & Cellular Pharmacology University of Miami School of Medicine

Daniel Isom is Associate Professor of Molecular & Cellular Pharmacology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he leads a research program focused on the molecular mechanisms that regulate membrane protein function and stability. His laboratory combines biophysics, structural biology, protein engineering, and computational approaches to understand how amino acid interactions govern the folding, conformational dynamics, and signaling of membrane proteins, including G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). Through these studies, his team aims to uncover fundamental principles of receptor function and leverage them to enable the discovery and development of novel therapeutics. Daniel earned his PhD in Biochemistry and has authored numerous publications advancing the understanding of GPCR structure, signaling, and pharmacology.
